season by joining us this Saturday evening, November
3, at 7:00 PM as we honor Trent G., our pianist, who
is recovering from major surgery. We will hold a
Gospel Music Concert Benefit for Trent to assist him
in paying for medical and living expenses during his
time of recovery. If you have been blessed by Trent's
amazing musical talents then you will want to be a
part of this very special evening!

Desert Auction: November 18
As part of our third Sunday covered dish dinner on
November 18 we will hold our first desert auction to
benefit the ministries of MCCK. You are invited to bake
or create your own desert to contribute to the auction.
You are also invited to bid on deserts to add to your

Lisa J. invites all families with children (of any age)
to join us on November 10 at the Knoxville Zoo for a
great day of fun and fellowship for families with
children. We'll meet at the gates to the zoo at 10 AM.

Holiday Home Fellowships: Update
Last chance to volunteer to host a Holiday Home
Fellowship between now and New Year's. Pastor Ray will
help you form an invitation list made up of your
friends and new folks you might not know. Ray will help
you send out invitations and make plans to host your
fellowship in your home, at the church, or at another
location. Our hope is that these fellowships will build
a stronger community and enhance our ministry to each
other between worship services. Ray will be putting
together the final calendar for promotion of these

Deacons Preparing Thanksgiving Baskets
Thanksgiving baskets will be given out to needy
individuals and families prior to Thanksgiving. If you
know of a needy person or family let one of our deacons
add them to the list. Please give their name, address,
and phone number. The baskets are regular baskets of
groceries plus small canned hams, canned yams, instant
mashed potatoes and cake mixes. Please help the deacons
by donating these items or giving money so they may
purchase needed items.
The Bible is a Queer Book...Nov. 17 Study
Get prepared for the holidays! Family gatherings may
provide challenges to those trying to understand how you
can be gay and Christian. What does the Bible really
say about homosexuality? Pastor Bob Galloway offers a
workshop entitled, The Bible is a Queer Story, on
Saturday, November 17, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Lunch will

Inquirer's Class for New Members and those interested in
MCCK, Sunday, Dec. 9
The next Inquirer's Class will be held on Sunday, Dec.
9, from 1:30 to 4:30 PM. The class is offered to those
who would like to know more about MCCK's beliefs,
ministries, affiliation, history, and membership
requirements. The class is required for those who wish
to join MCCK. An induction ceremony will be held for
those who complete the class Sunday, Dec. 16 during the

MCCK Angel Tree
You will be able to pick up your Angel Tree choices
beginning on Sunday, Nov. 11. Gifts must be returned
unwrapped to the church by Dec. 9. Volunteers are
needed to wrap presents on Dec. 15. Gifts will be given
to children during the Appalachian Christmas program on
Sunday, Dec. 16.
Can't shop? You can donate money and we will do the
shopping for you. Select a name and give money for
the purchase of that child's gift. Or, just give
money and it will be used to make sure everyone gets a
gift.

Dec. 1 & 2
Our largest attendance of the year usually occurs at our
Saturday night Christmas Canata pereformance! Last year over
180 were present! We're expecting 200 or more this year! The
choir will present the program on Saturday, Dec. 1, 7:00 PM
and Sunday, Dec. 2 at 11:00 AM. More than 40 choir members
will be participating, plus Trent, our pianist and Ray Evette
our Minister of Music. Both performances will include solos
and dramatizations. Start inviting your friends, family, and
coworkers now.
