ABOUT US The Equality Herald launched January 2, 2007. It is the first-ever publication devoted solely to bringing the news and views of the LGBTQ community to East Tennessee. After three years as the East Bureau of Out and About Newspaper, headquartered in Nashville, we have branched out to found our own news and information source for the Eastern Grand Division of Tennessee. Our editorial philosophy embraces the cardinal rules of ethics in journalism, but we note that we have a confessed agenda. That agenda includes promoting the well-being and civil rights of the LGBTQ community as we endeavor to bring relevant and reliable news to our readers.
